Frohwein/Matthews Office Plus and Pioneer Workspace Solutions Merge to Create Tallgrass Business Resources
May 27, 2011 (Coralville, IA)...Two well known, multi-generational businesses, Frohwein/ Matthews Office Plus and Pioneer Workspace Solutions - are pleased to announce their merger effective June 1, 2011. The new name of their combined entities is Tallgrass Business Resources. This event will bring together two of Iowa’s leading office products companies, blending talents and resources in the areas of office furniture, interior design, office supplies, and office facilities. Tallgrass Business Resources will serve Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois, and have over 45 employees in four locations.
Doug Parsons will be Tallgrass Business Resource's President & CEO, Phil Wasta will serve as Vice-President, John Wasta as Chief Operating Officer, and Dave Parsons as Chief Financial Officer. Long-time Frohwein employee Randy Devine will continue as Sales Director of the Office Products Division. All employees will be retained and there will be no positions eliminated due to the merger.
The name Tallgrass refers to the merged company’s Iowa and Illinois market area that was formerly the heart of the Midwest Tallgrass Prairie. It also represents a commitment to green products, conservation and sustainability, which will be a strong component of Tallgrass Business Resources’ offerings and initiatives.
This union of these two award-winning independent dealerships represents almost 150 years of office products experience in Eastern Iowa. Doug Parsons commented, “The merging of our two long-established family businesses is truly exciting. We look forward to building on each dealer's unique heritage, while focusing on common goals of supporting our clients' business needs. Our combined strengths will allow us to expand product and service capabilities, while providing value-driven solutions to our customers."
